Victor L. Cardenas Jr. is an attorney at Jackson Gilmour & Dobbs, PC in Houston, Texas. Mr. Cardenas has handled a variety of matters including insurance subrogation, personal injury, and complex business disputes for plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts. He has experience in a wide array of civil litigation matters, but his practice currently centers on environmental litigation, commercial litigation, and personal injury cases. Mr. Cardenas has represented chemical and product manufacturers, facilities, and owners and operators in numerous toxic tort lawsuits brought under Texas common law. In addition, Mr. Cardenas is part of a team that serves as Special Counsel to the State of New Jersey in pursuing natural resources damages, remediation, costs, and other damages associated with the Passaic River. Mr. Cardenas also has experience representing individuals, facility owners, as well as common carriers in personal injury cases brought under Texas common law and FELA.

Mr. Cardenas' practice areas include Toxic Tort and Environmental Litigation, Natural Resource Damages, and litigation involving commercial transactions, personal injury and insurance.
 
Professional Background

Prior to joining Jackson Gilmour & Dobbs, PC, Mr. Cardenas worked at Connelly Baker Maston Wotring & Jackson, LLP. He also practiced law on his own, in addition to working for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and Hill, Angel & King LLP.

Mr. Cardenas received his law degree with honors from Thurgood Marshal School of Law, Texas Southern University in 1999. Prior to law school, he worked as a product specialist and business development manager for Jupiter Media Metrix Internet Research Firm. He also was a project manager for Communities in Schools at Sherman Elementary for Houston Independent School District.

Mr. Cardenas graduated from the University of Texas in 1991. He is a graduate of St. Thomas Catholic High School of Houston, Texas.
